Manitoba SWO: How work or study in another province affects your EOI
Manitoba’s Expression of Interest (EOI) risk grid deducts 100 ranking points for work experience in another province and 100 for studies in another province. Assess those ranking factors separately from the Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) eligibility threshold of 60 points and the qualifying Manitoba connection.
Check past history and current status separately
If you studied in Ontario and have since moved abroad, record the institution, dates and residence history before checking the relevant deduction. Manitoba lists temporary foreign workers who are currently working and residing in another province as ineligible to submit an MPNP application. Confirm your actual status, workplace and residence before calculating your score.
Declare other ties even when they carry zero points
A close relative in another province or a past immigration application with another province as the destination does not attract a deduction under the current risk grid. You must still declare applicable connections for yourself or your spouse. If another provincial or federal immigration application is active, check the separate eligibility restriction. Having an Express Entry profile is different from having submitted an immigration application.
Build a timeline for both spouses covering education, work, addresses and applications. Compare it with your EOI answers and supporting records, then document your Manitoba connection and intended settlement. For help reviewing the documents, contact 卓越移民 Premiervisa Group.
