St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship: Family, Costs and Biometrics
Compare SISC and approved assets, establish individual household eligibility and complete costs, then plan authorised filing, interviews and biometric enrolment. Official centre availability and operative conditions require confirmation.
St Kitts and Nevis: compare household and funding priorities
Assess contribution, public-benefit and property directions separately
The programme currently lists four main directions: SISC, the Public Benefit Option, approved development property and qualifying private property. Compare household composition, available funds, long-term asset holding and objectives. An investment starting point is not an all-in quotation or an approval.
Filing, approval in principle, completion of the qualifying funding, citizenship evidence and passport issuance are different stages. Property performance is also separate from immigration assessment; approval does not guarantee yield, appreciation, repurchase or exit.
Direction / Current starting point / Decision to examine
SISC contribution
Current starting point: USD 250,000 principal or eligible household up to four
Decision to examine: Additional relatives and other charges
Public Benefit Option
Current starting point: Official minimum USD 250,000
Decision to examine: Approved project, payment structure and option-specific fees
Development property
Current starting point: USD 325,000 approved designated unit
Decision to examine: Project status, title and minimum seven-year holding
Qualifying private property
Current starting point: USD 325,000 condominium or USD 600,000 single-family home
Decision to examine: Designation, category and transfer rules
Attendance and passport arrangements changed in 2026
Applications submitted from 14 April 2026 require biometric enrolment. Existing investment citizens also face a passport-update transition. Older no-residence statements must not be interpreted as exemption from interviews, enrolment or document management.
Official reforms discuss genuine link and integration while some investment pages retain no-residence wording. Confirm the operative rules and individual instructions for the filing date. This page offers neither permanent zero-attendance guarantees nor an unverified universal day count.
Household and background: establish the actual category
Give each relative a documented position
The principal must be 18+. The specific current eligibility list includes the spouse, minor children, qualifying supported 18–30-year-old children in full-time education, specified adult children and eligible parents. A larger household does not remove individual evidence requirements.
Record birth dates, relationships, education, residence, support and the intended filing date. Consider upcoming birthdays, graduation, marriage and custody changes. Later addition of a person omitted from the original file must not be assumed.
Provide consistent identity, funding and refusal records
Explain nationality, residence, identity and source-of-funds circumstances, including previous visa or citizenship refusals, investigations or bankruptcy. Applicable restrictions need individual review rather than a conclusion based only on funding.
Employment, business proceeds, asset disposals and family sponsorship require different supporting records. Resolve inconsistencies in names, dates and ownership against the original evidence; do not alter formal records to fit the application.
Verify the actual submitting agent
Only an appropriately authorised agent can submit. Check the current official list, responsibility for records and filing, agreed service scope and payees. Distinguish marketing, intermediary collection and formal CIU receipt.
The principal interview is mandatory. For relatives aged 16 or over, confirm the selected option and the CIU’s specific instructions; do not assume an exemption. Follow the required format, location and evidence requests, without treating a published processing range as a personal completion deadline.
Complete costs: separate the threshold and later passport steps
Put four cost groups in one schedule
Identify the option and every relative’s age before itemising contribution or assets, screening and post-approval fees, document steps and professional work. Fees differ by option; property post-approval charges must not be added indiscriminately to every route.
Cost group / Current point to include / How to review
Contribution or qualifying asset
Current point to include: SISC household base and additional relatives; property by category
How to review: Retain approval, contract and payment-stage evidence
Due diligence and post-approval
Current point to include: USD 10,000 principal; USD 7,500 each relative 16+ for due diligence
How to review: Price option-specific post-approval and family charges separately
Biometrics and passport upgrade
Current point to include: USD 2,500 first adult, USD 2,000 second adult, USD 1,300 child under 16
How to review: Avoid duplicating the included upgrade; verify any discount conditions
Property, records and professionals
Current point to include: Transaction, holding, insurance, translation and written professional scope
How to review: The threshold is not the full cost of holding an asset or applying as a household
Describe offer and payment conditions precisely
The official biometric page currently provides a 10% reduction for qualifying new bookings both made and completed between 20 July and 31 December 2026, without retrospective application. Standard rates resume in January 2027. It does not discount SISC or property prices or guarantee availability before an applicant reaches approval in principle.
Confirm purpose, recipient, authority and deadline for each payment. Contributions, transactions, screening and professional engagement have different terms. Refusal, withdrawal or termination must be assessed against those terms, without an all-money-back promise.
Seven steps and the biometric follow-up
Plan from eligibility to document management
Separate preparation, screening, post-approval arrangements and final documents. The published status-response guidance includes refusal and continuing processing, not only approval. Leave flexibility around major household, employment and asset decisions.
Assess objectives and household eligibility
List nationality, residence, relationships, ages and funding background.
Choose the direction and verify the agent
Compare contribution and assets and agree the submitting role and scope.
Prepare records and applicable screening charges
Organise identity, relationships and funding evidence.
Complete due diligence and interview steps
Retain formal receipt and requests; relatives participate as required.
Follow approval-in-principle funding instructions
Verify conditions, contribution or asset, payee and deadline.
Book and complete official biometric enrolment
Arrange personal attendance through the official platform and designated centre.
Confirm certificate and passport separately
Manage document updates, holding obligations, travel and household changes.
Distinguish collection locations, transition and nationality
Hong Kong, Singapore and other locations appear on the current designated list; actual centres and times depend on the official booking platform. Do not collect fingerprints or citizenship-document numbers through ordinary website enquiries.
Affected existing investment citizens and their relatives must enrol under age-appropriate standards by 31 July 2027. Non-updated old passports cease to be valid for international travel afterwards, while citizenship itself is unaffected by this modernisation. Destination rights, original nationality and tax questions remain separate.

Which investment directions are currently listed?
The official programme lists SISC, the Public Benefit Option, approved development property and qualifying private property. Each has its own conditions, fees and ongoing obligations. Meeting a financial starting point does not require the authority to approve citizenship.
Is the USD 250,000 SISC amount only for a single applicant?
The current official amount covers the principal or an eligible household of up to four. Eligible relatives beyond that base require additional contributions. Due diligence, documents and professional costs must be itemised separately.
How are additional SISC relatives initially costed?
Beyond the basic household allowance, the listed additional contribution is USD 25,000 per eligible relative under 18 or USD 50,000 aged 18 or above. Determine eligibility and household composition before treating that calculation as a formal quotation.
Does every USD 325,000 property qualify?
No. Development investments require approved projects and designated units. Qualifying private property has separate designation and different condominium and single-family thresholds. A market price or advertisement does not establish CIU approval.
Is a sale guaranteed after seven years?
No. A minimum holding period is not a repurchase, valuation or buyer guarantee. Examine title, category, transfer conditions and any later purchaser’s programme eligibility under the relevant rules and agreement.
What are the principal and family basics?
The principal must be 18 or above and pass eligibility and background checks. Assess the spouse, minor children, qualifying supported children 18–30 in full-time education, specified adult children and eligible parents individually.
Can parents, grandparents and siblings all be included?
Do not assume a universal family package. The specific current eligibility page lists parents of the principal or spouse aged 55+ who live with and are fully supported by the principal. Generic FAQ references must not be expanded into guaranteed grandparent or sibling inclusion.
Can refusals, investigations or bankruptcy be omitted?
Disclose the facts for appropriate individual review. The official eligibility framework contains restrictions and conditions. Concealment or an assurance based solely on funding capacity can put the application on an incorrect basis.
Can applicants file directly with the CIU?
The official process requires an Authorised Agent. Verify the actual submitting agent on the current list, written scope, payees and formal receipts. A marketing or referral role does not itself establish filing authorisation.
Is an interview necessary?
The main applicant must attend an interview. Interview duties for relatives aged 16 or over depend on the selected option and official instructions. Confirm them before filing; a possible virtual format does not remove screening requirements.
Can zero attendance or residence still be promised?
An enduring zero-attendance promise is inappropriate. Official 2026 reforms address genuine link and integration while some investment pages retain no-residence language. Confirm the applicable written requirements and complete already implemented interview and biometric duties.
When did biometrics become mandatory for new applications?
Biometric enrolment is required for new applications submitted from 14 April 2026. Appointment booking becomes available at approval in principle. Use the official platform and designated centres; overseas access does not mean personal attendance is unnecessary.
Must existing investment citizens enrol too?
The official transition requires affected existing citizens, including relatives and children under age-appropriate standards, to enrol by 31 July 2027. Non-updated old passports cease to be acceptable for international travel afterwards. This modernisation does not remove citizenship itself.
Can enrolment be arranged in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong is on the current official list of designated locations, alongside other centres. Actual availability is determined through the official booking platform. Do not provide fingerprints, passport numbers or citizenship certificates through an ordinary initial enquiry field.
Are biometric charges part of the minimum contribution?
Confirm them separately in the formal budget. Current standard combined enrolment and passport-upgrade charges are USD 2,500 for the first adult 16+, USD 2,000 for a second adult and USD 1,300 per child under 16. A conditional 2026 discount is not a discount on the whole citizenship contribution.
Does 120–180 days guarantee passport delivery?
No. Official guidance concerns notification after acknowledgement of approval in principle, refusal or a cause-related delay. Preparation, requests, investment completion, biometrics and document issuance are separate stages; no individual delivery date is promised.
Does a passport guarantee foreign work, tax exemption or retention of the original nationality?
No. Destination travel, employment and residence rules, bank checks, tax duties and original-nationality law apply separately. Assess the actual circumstances rather than using a passport ranking as a substitute for permission.
What is useful for an initial enquiry?
Start with a summary without document numbers: nationality, residence, relationships and ages, broad funding background and objectives. Formal records, biometrics and payments require the agreed purpose and appropriate official channels.
