Canada Start-up Visa Program (SUV)
IRCC currently does not accept new SUV permanent residence applications. Its official page states that the program was paused on 30 June 2026. This page is for status information and existing case follow-up.
Current Status and Existing Cases
Already submitted: IRCC continues processing applications that were accepted before the pause. Applicants should monitor IRCC requests and deadlines.
New applicants: do not treat a designated organisation's support, investment or language results as permission to submit a new SUV application while intake is paused.
Work permits: some eligible existing applicants may still apply for an open work permit. Eligibility must be checked individually; a pending SUV case does not automatically grant a work permit.
Funding and language evidence: verify the rules that apply to the existing application and any new work-permit request. Check the current settlement-funds requirement for your family size.
Case Review and Next Steps
PremierVisa can review an existing SUV application's documents, deadlines and next steps. A different entrepreneur route requires its own eligibility assessment; it is not a guaranteed replacement for SUV. Neither investment nor professional assistance guarantees approval.
Status checked 6 October 2026 against IRCC's official SUV page.
