Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas: Is 60 points enough to apply?
The Skilled Worker Overseas pathway requires at least 60 points on its eligibility grid and an established connection to Manitoba. The province lists three kinds of connection: support from family or friends in Manitoba, previous study or work in the province, or an invitation issued directly by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Check what a Manitoba supporter can provide
A supporter must be an established resident who is your friend or relative and who is willing and able to review and endorse your plans to settle and find work. Gather evidence of the relationship, where the person lives and how your own settlement plan would work. If they have supported other applicants, check the rules for your relationship and their circumstances.
Match your evidence to previous work or study
For previous work, the province requires at least six consecutive months of full-time employment with a Manitoba employer. Locate the work permit and a signed employer reference. For previous study, check that you completed an authorized program at an eligible Manitoba institution and gather your study permit, transcripts and credential. Language studies do not qualify for this connection.
Read the draw criteria before the score
The 60-point threshold belongs to the SWO eligibility grid. Expression of Interest (EOI) selection has separate conditions. Some draws consider only candidates directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. If your connection is family support or past study, read the draw notice to see who was considered before comparing scores. Keep any direct invitation and its date with your application records.
