Who submits the provincial endorsement for Canada’s Atlantic Immigration Program?

Your designated employer submits the endorsement application to the province where you will work. After receiving a job offer, get a settlement plan from a service provider and give your employer a copy. If the province endorses your offer, it issues a confirmation. Include that confirmation with the other required documents when you apply to IRCC for permanent residence.

Ask which stage the employer has reached

Confirm the employer’s legal name, the work location and the position. Ask whether the employer has submitted an endorsement application for your specific offer. An employer can already hold a provincial designation and still need to submit your endorsement application. If the employer says the paperwork is filed, ask which paperwork. Keep any written acknowledgement or reference number the province has provided.

For example, your employer may have signed IMM 0157 while you are still arranging a settlement plan. You can prepare other federal application documents in the meantime. Ask the employer what remains before it can submit the endorsement application, then wait for the provincial confirmation and make sure all required documents are ready before filing for permanent residence.

Prepare a settlement plan that reflects your household

A settlement service provider helps prepare the plan for free. If you are in Canada, contact a provider in the region where you expect to work. If you are abroad, ask the designated employer for suggestions. Before your appointment, note the housing, transport, schooling, language and employment needs of the family members coming with you. Keep a copy of the plan and give one to the employer for the endorsement application.

Check the confirmation against your offer

Compare the confirmation with your passport details, IMM 0157 and settlement plan. Check the names, work location and dates, and note any deadline or instructions from the province. If the employer, work location, position or accompanying family members change while you are waiting, report the change and check the province’s procedure before relying on the original documents.

If you plan to start work before the permanent residence decision, ask your employer about the provincial work permit referral letter and check IRCC’s temporary work permit instructions. You still need permission to work before starting the job.

For help identifying the next step, bring your job offer, IMM 0157, settlement plan and the most recent written update from the employer or province to 卓越移民 Premiervisa Group.
