Do you need to enter Fiji before applying for Assured Income residence?
Fiji’s Ministry of Immigration directs applicants to lodge online through Immi Hub. Its Assured Income checklist also asks the main applicant for a certified copy of a current immigration arrival stamp. The published instructions do not explain how to lodge from overseas without a current stamp. Before booking travel, ask the Ministry whether you can lodge offshore and how to complete that part of the checklist.
Ask about your circumstances before paying for travel
Give the Ministry your current country of residence, whether you have visited Fiji before and when you expect to lodge. If you have a stamp from an earlier trip, include the date and ask whether it is relevant to the current application. Ask whether the Ministry accepts alternative evidence and how it wants any documents uploaded. Keep the written response with your application records before scheduling time-sensitive documents.
If you are considering an initial visit
Check the entry requirements for each passport holder and the purpose of the trip. The Ministry’s visitor guidance says the length of stay depends on the individual grant and can be up to four months. If admitted as a visitor, record the date your own permission expires and keep the entry record. Check each family member separately, especially if they travel on different dates or hold different passports.
If your residence application is pending near the end of the visit, check your current permission and the steps available before it expires. The Ministry says eligible on-arrival visitor permits may be extended before expiry. Confirm the procedure and any fee, and retain an option to depart by your authorised date until you have the relevant permission or official confirmation.
Keep separate dates for filing and travel
A simple checklist can cover your travel document, residence country, planned entry and departure, previous Fiji travel and anyone accompanying you. Once the Ministry confirms which step comes first, use that timeline to schedule the rest of your documents.
