Fiji retirement residence documents: When to book the medical and request police clearance
For Fiji's Residence Permit on Assured Income, schedule the medical report against your intended filing date. The Ministry of Immigration asks the main applicant for a recent medical report within the three-month window and a certified police report from the country of residence within the one-year window. The medical officer must state whether the applicant is fit to reside in Fiji. Confirm that the documents will still meet the timing requirements when you file through Immi Hub.
Start with records that may take longer to obtain
Check the Ministry's list for the relevant country of residence, including its reference to residence of 12 months or more. If you have recently moved or your residence history spans several places, confirm which reports the Ministry wants before ordering them. Request the pension scheme statement and gather recent offshore bank statements. Keep the holder's name and original currency visible in both sets of records.
Separate the main applicant's file from each dependant's file
Use the current checklist to prepare passport biodata, photographs and the applicable relationship evidence. The Ministry lists a marriage certificate for a spouse and birth certificates for dependants. Check the separate dependant list for medical and police requirements rather than copying the principal applicant's list. Follow the Ministry's English translation and notarisation requirements for the country of residence. Keep originals alongside certified and translated copies.
Before uploading, list the issue date and file name for each time-sensitive document. If a delayed police report pushes the planned filing date back, check the medical report again. Retain the online submission record and use Immi Hub to follow up on requests for additional evidence.
