Vanuatu Citizenship: Verify Fees, Timelines and Travel Limits
Updated: Oct 25
A claim that Vanuatu citizenship fees are about to rise should be checked against an official notice before it influences a payment decision. A forwarded message or an agency deadline is not sufficient evidence of a government change. Ask for the affected programme, the effective date and the rules defining which applications receive earlier terms.
Verify the quotation for your family
Separate the qualifying contribution or investment from government charges, due diligence, dependants' costs and professional services. Identify when each amount is payable and which amounts are refundable, if any. The quotation should explain what is included and what is supplied by third parties. This page does not confirm an unverified US$20,000 price increase or a final application window.
UK and EU travel claims need correction
Vanuatu is listed among nationalities requiring a UK visa, subject to applicable exceptions. The EU Council also decided to end Vanuatu's visa exemption in December 2024. A current Vanuatu citizenship proposal must therefore not be sold on blanket visa-free access to the UK or the Schengen area. Check destination rules for the actual journey before booking or selecting a passport programme.
Separate preparation from government processing
A timeline should identify document preparation, review, government assessment and later passport-related steps. Ask what must be ready before submission and how requests for further information are handled. Do not organise a major move on the basis of an advertised guaranteed 30-day approval. Keep a plan for travel, residence and schooling if the application takes longer or is unsuccessful.
Prepare evidence before making a commitment
Bring your citizenship history, family details, residence addresses, relevant previous visa decisions and an outline of how the funds were earned. Confirm who is responsible for the submission and how any required authorisation will be verified. Review the written service scope, payment recipient, progress-reporting arrangements and dispute contact before paying.
Discuss whether the route fits your objective
PremierVisa can help distinguish citizenship planning from relocation or a destination-country visa. If UK or European residence is the real goal, assess that goal directly rather than assuming a Vanuatu passport will deliver it. The assessment should explain the limitations as well as the potential reasons for considering the route.
