Slovenia Digital Nomad Resources: Twice the Average Net Salary, Family Support and a Separate Living Budget
Slovenia's digital nomad resources requirement is a monthly amount of at least twice the relevant average monthly net salary. It is a changing reference, not a permanently fixed euro price. The official digital nomad FAQ also says that this amount concerns the principal applicant; family reunification requires additional resources.
Record the reference behind the calculation
The Ministry describes the calculation using the relevant average net salary and the latest applicable official-publication basis. Retain the publication, its period and the calculation used for the application. Do not substitute a gross-salary headline, an annual figure from another article or a neighbouring country's threshold.
An older numerical example can explain arithmetic without establishing the amount accepted at a later application. Check the reference at the relevant time and follow the receiving authority's instructions. A private currency conversion or adviser spreadsheet should remain traceable to the official basis and original financial documents.
Connect salary evidence to actual receipts
For an employee, organise the contract, remuneration records and bank receipts so that the employer, applicant, amounts and periods can be connected. Bonuses, one-off compensation and a quarterly payment should retain their real character. A particularly high month should not be described as guaranteed recurring remuneration.
If the contractual employer and payer differ, explain the genuine relationship. Preserve original currencies and transaction dates instead of replacing the entire file with one euro total. A difference between a payslip and bank credit may have a real explanation, but the records should not be changed to conceal it.
Distinguish business receipts and personal resources
For a self-employed applicant, show the activity and lawful resource sources. Business turnover may include operating costs or funds belonging to a separate entity; it is not automatically the individual's available monthly support. Link contracts, invoices and receipts where relevant, and explain what the person can actually use.
Treat restricted assets, joint accounts, expected sales and money held by relatives according to their actual rights and availability. A high property valuation does not itself explain monthly support. Do not report a proposed sale or unreceived invoice as money already available, or invent a universal rule accepting every financial instrument.
Assess the family addition using the actual household
The specialist FAQ expressly requires additional support for family members. List each person's relationship, age and status before calculating a household requirement. Family eligibility must also be established; having more resources does not automatically bring every parent, adult child or other relative within the permitted categories.
The general family guidance uses its own member-based support assessment. Obtain the applicable calculation for the digital nomad household rather than importing another country's percentage or simply multiplying the principal threshold by every person. Keep the financial evidence period and supporting documents aligned with the actual procedure.
Prepare a separate living and application budget
Rent, transport, food, education, insurance and travel are real expenses, but a private estimate of them is not an additional statutory threshold. Budget for the intended period and actual household choices. Avoid calling an unverified average rent or a personal contingency recommendation a government requirement.
Government procedure and card charges, document preparation, translation, certification and professional services should be itemised separately. The resources figure is not money paid to a consultant for approval. Confirm each supplier's scope and fee, including whether family work or a later change of residence purpose is covered.
The permit lasts up to one year and cannot be extended. Plan the end of that period as well as arrival, including commitments that continue after departure or a change of purpose. A clear budget distinguishes evidence of eligibility, the cost of applying and the household's actual spending; meeting one of those calculations does not settle the others.
