Philippines SRRV Documents: Passport, Medical and Police Clearances, and Remittance Proof

An SRRV application file is more than a passport and proof of funds. The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) checklist includes entry-status documents, its application form, medical and police records, immigration clearances, relationship evidence for dependants, photographs and proof of the required inward remittance. Several documents have validity windows, so confirm the filing schedule before obtaining them.

Passport and immigration-status documents

The PRA expanded-programme checklist calls for the principal applicant’s original passport, with a valid tourist visa and photocopies. It notes that a tourist visa without restrictions must remain valid for at least one month while the SRRV is being processed, with an extension required if it expires during that process. The programme also lists a Bureau of Immigration Clearance Certificate. Confirm the currently accepted entry category and any exceptions before travel; not every visitor permission can be converted in the same way.

PRA form and medical certificate

Use the current PRA application form and complete it as instructed. If a field does not apply, follow the form’s directions rather than leaving it blank without explanation. The official checklist specifies a PRA medical certificate issued within six months before submission. Use the required form and make sure the clinic’s details, dates and applicant identity are legible and consistent.

Police clearances and time in the Philippines

The programme requires police clearance from the applicant’s country of origin or recent residence, with the document issued within the stated six-month period before submission. The checklist also identifies an NBI clearance for applicants who have stayed in the Philippines for more than 90 days before submission. The principal and adult dependants may have separate clearance requirements. Confirm the current rule for each person rather than treating the principal’s certificate as covering the family.

Dependants and civil records

A spouse or child needs evidence that establishes the legal relationship to the principal applicant. PRA lists apostilled or authenticated marriage and birth records as examples. A child’s age and marital status also matter. If a name differs between a passport and a civil record, prepare the official link between the names instead of expecting the reviewer to infer it.

Translation, apostille and authentication

PRA states that foreign-issued documents must be translated into English if they are not already in English and must be apostilled by the competent authority or authenticated by the appropriate Philippine consular office, as applicable. Check the issuing country’s procedure for each record. Translation and authentication solve different requirements and should be tracked separately.

Photographs and bank evidence

The August 2025 programme checklist specifies eight recent 2-by-2-inch photographs taken within three months before submission. It also requires the visa deposit to be sent as an inward remittance from a bank abroad to a PRA-accredited bank. Keep the transfer advice and request the bank certificate through the required process; a debit from the sending account by itself may not prove receipt in the required form.

Sequence documents to reduce expiry risk

First confirm the route and dependant list. Next check passports, civil records and any required translation or authentication. Then plan the medical and police clearances around their validity periods, arrange the immigration clearances, and coordinate the deposit with the accredited bank. Keep a tracker with the issuer, issue date, expiry or validity rule, applicant and remaining action for every document.

PRA may ask for additional documents depending on the option or applicant circumstances. The cited programme and processing documents are official PRA materials issued in 2025; check the live checklist and current instructions before filing. This list helps organise the file but does not establish that an application is complete or approvable.

Keep a separate checklist for each family member, even where the same type of document is required. Record the original holder, issuing authority, issue date, translation status, authentication method and whether the original must travel with the applicant. Store scans for planning, but confirm which originals and copies PRA expects at filing. If a police certificate or medical record is close to its validity limit, obtain updated instructions before repeating the process.
