NSW 190 Documents Expiring Soon: Check the 14-Day Invitation and Five-Day Rule
If NSW invites you to apply for subclass 190 nomination, check two separate time limits: the 14-day nomination invitation and the validity of every supporting document. NSW’s current public guide requires supporting documents to be valid when you apply and for at least five days after submission. Having time left on the invitation does not establish that your evidence is still acceptable.
Record the state invitation before calculating anything
Keep the complete NSW notice and record its issue date, the application deadline, reference number and submission instructions. NSW’s subclass 190 guidance says its nomination invitation is valid for 14 days and that this window will not be extended. Use the actual notice to establish the deadline; do not calculate from the date a representative forwards an email.
A later Home Affairs invitation is a different event. Its EOI guidance gives an invited applicant 60 days from the visa invitation to submit the visa application. That federal period does not replace the shorter NSW nomination window. Maintain separate entries for the two stages.
Check evidence against your planned submission date
Create a simple document index before submission. For each relevant result or document, record its issuer, identifying reference, how its validity was established, expiry date and the date you intend to submit. Keep the original evidence beside the index. An unclear validity period should be resolved with the relevant issuer or applicable official instructions, rather than replaced with an assumed standard period.
Then assess each item against NSW’s submission requirement and the further five-day validity period. For example, evidence due to expire two days after a proposed submission would not satisfy a requirement to remain valid for at least five days afterwards. This is a hypothetical timing example, not a client case or an approval assessment. Specific requirements in your actual invitation must also be checked.
If you move the planned submission date, repeat the calculation. A checklist completed earlier in the week may no longer describe the application you are about to lodge. One document with sufficient time remaining does not resolve a shorter expiry on another.
Keep renewal records separate from current evidence
If a result or assessment is nearing expiry, record the available document and any renewal separately. A test booking, a renewal request and an issued replacement are different records. Ask the relevant issuer what the process requires and what document will confirm the outcome. Do not overwrite the current expiry with the date you hope a replacement will arrive.
A newly issued document also needs to support the claim for which it is being supplied. NSW requires evidence for the claims in the EOI. Do not assume that changing a score or uploading a different result will automatically be accepted under an existing state invitation. Preserve the earlier records and seek clarification on the correct procedure for your stage.
Leave time to check the submitted files
Prepare clear, complete scans and any required translations, then compare the final attachments with the document index. Check names, dates, occupation details and all pages needed to understand a result. Retain the original files when making smaller submission copies; avoid compression or cropping that makes relevant details unreadable.
Check the current submission instructions and file-size limits before the final day. Keep the final attachment set, submission receipt and reference number together. A saved draft or a file-upload screen is not evidence that the nomination application was submitted. Confirm the actual submission outcome before marking that step complete.
Treat urgent assessment as a separate question
NSW publishes separate guidance about expedited assessment requests. Review its current criteria if you believe your submitted case qualifies. A request for faster assessment should not be treated as an extension of the invitation or a waiver of document validity. Continue tracking the actual deadlines while any request is being considered.
For a discussion with 卓越移民 Premiervisa Group, start with the stage reached, invitation date and the types and expiry dates of the documents causing concern. Detailed files can be requested through an agreed process if needed. The purpose is to identify evidence gaps and the next appropriate action; nomination and visa decisions remain with the relevant authorities.
