MTEP Established Entrepreneur Documents: RM50,000 Personal Deposits, USD100,000 Fundraising and Financial Records

MDEC's 2026 Established Entrepreneur checklist requires personal bank evidence and previous fundraising as separate items. The listed personal balance is at least RM50,000 monthly for three consecutive months in the specified demand-deposit forms. Previous fundraising must be evidenced at at least USD100,000. A larger personal asset valuation does not automatically satisfy both requirements.

Read the account requirement precisely

The checklist asks for the latest three months of personal statements. It describes demand deposits including current, savings and cheque accounts. Shares, bonds, gold, cryptocurrency, fixed deposits and other investment instruments are expressly excluded from this item.

Retain complete statements showing the holder, account type, period and balances. An account screenshot or investment portfolio total does not demonstrate every part of the requirement. Where an account is joint, restricted or denominated in another currency, have the actual evidence assessed rather than asserting automatic acceptance.

Explain previous fundraising as a real transaction

The checklist gives examples such as an executed investment agreement, company bank statement, capitalisation table, investor confirmation and board resolution, or equivalent supporting documents. The records should connect the same transaction, amount, company and investors.

A funding target, unsigned expression of interest and completed fundraising are different stages. Sales income should not simply be renamed investment. Where money passes through a related entity or a restructuring, explain the actual structure and obtain appropriate professional review.

Personal funds and company financing have different owners and purposes. Moving money between accounts does not create a new funding history. A pitch deck should describe the evidence accurately rather than presenting a future ambition as already achieved.

Reconcile company records and two-year financial material

The initial Established checklist calls for existing incorporation forms containing shareholder and business-activity information. It also specifies the latest certified true copy of the existing company's financial audited report or management-account material for the last two years.

Keep the entity, reporting period and currency clear. If a product has moved between entities, document the history. Accounting records should be prepared or reviewed by the appropriate professionals; a founder's presentation is not a substitute for the required financial evidence.

Check sponsor and passport records early

The checklist requires the Malaysian sponsor form and copies of the sponsor's identity card, front and back. Obtain and handle those third-party records with appropriate consent, checking that names and signatures agree.

All passport pages are required from cover to cover, with at least six empty pages and 14 months of remaining validity. Review this before final submission so any renewal or missing scan can be addressed. A personal-information page alone is not the same as the specified complete passport record.

Add conduct, background and applicable supporting records

The checklist includes good-conduct evidence from the stated competent source, the latest resume and highest educational or relevant technical certificate. It separately identifies conditional items such as intellectual-property, research-collaboration and award or memorandum evidence.

Use only genuine records and label their relevance. An application should not invent a patent, partner or award because the checklist has an optional row. A draft agreement must remain described as a draft, with any unresolved conditions visible.

Check consistency before paying or submitting

Compare the business deck, company register, fundraising evidence, bank records and resume. Names, amounts and dates should support the same factual account. Original-currency records should remain available behind any summary or translation.

The initial checklist is also different from the 2026 Established renewal checklist, which has its own longer financial-history and progress items. Submitting a well-organised file does not guarantee approval. The useful result of a document review is a precise list of supported facts and remaining gaps, not a promise based on the number of attachments.
