Indonesia E33G Remote Worker Eligibility: Overseas Company Agreement, Annual Income and One-Year Stay
Indonesia's E33G permits a qualifying person to live in Indonesia while carrying out work for a company established abroad. The official requirements include an overseas company work agreement and bank evidence of at least US$60,000 annual salary or income. Separate recent bank evidence addresses living funds. Having savings or foreign clients alone does not automatically establish the work basis.
Identify the actual company and working relationship
Name the legal entity, where it is established, the applicant's responsibilities and the real agreement. A brand name or payment platform may be different from the company that actually employs or engages the person under the agreement.
The official E33G description is not a blanket approval for every freelancer, shareholder or founder. Independent invoices, dividends and company revenue are different from the required work relationship. Present the actual facts for assessment rather than creating an agreement for work that does not exist.
Keep annual income and living funds distinct
The official list asks for bank evidence of salary or income of at least US$60,000 per year. It separately lists the latest three months of statements showing at least US$2,000 or equivalent living funds.
The lower balance does not replace the annual-income requirement. Equally, dividing the annual figure by twelve is a budgeting calculation, not evidence that the official rule requires an identical US$5,000 deposit every month. Explain the real period, payment cycle and actual receipts.
Understand the initial stay and entry-use deadline
The official E33G page describes a one-year stay, with online extension available under the applicable process. It separately gives the visa a 90-day validity from issue for use to enter Indonesia. Unused after that period, a new visa is required under the published guidance.
These are different dates. Keep the visa-use deadline, actual entry, issued stay permission and passport validity visible. The page states that limited stay and re-entry permissions issue when the person is admitted at the immigration checkpoint; visa approval and admission remain separate stages.
Stay within the permitted activity
E33G concerns work connected with the overseas company. The guidance prohibits overstaying and activity inconsistent with the permission, including the relevant restrictions on sales of goods or services.
If the actual plan involves local employment, running an Indonesian venue or entering a different business activity, assess the appropriate permission first. Receiving money in an overseas account does not by itself change the nature of work carried out locally.
Prepare the initial file and genuine remote arrangement
The official page says no sponsor is required for this visa, but the applicant still needs an eVisa account and the listed electronic documents. These include the passport, recent colour photograph, resume, itinerary, banking evidence and overseas work agreement.
The initial passport list requires at least six months remaining validity. Review documents before making non-refundable relocation commitments. Employer agreement to the real remote arrangement is also a practical matter distinct from the government's assessment of the immigration file.
Plan the household and later stages honestly
Family members have their own applicable procedures and documents. The principal person's application should not be described as approval for an entire household, and schooling or insurance arrangements need their own factual planning.
Begin with the work agreement, actual income, available living funds and proposed activity. Identify substantive gaps before paying for a presentation or relocation package. Extension or a possible change to another residence category is subject to the relevant conditions; the initial one-year permission is not a guarantee of permanent status.
