Hungary Guest Investor Visa: Proving Investment Funds, Source of Wealth and Living Cover
A bank balance screenshot does not explain every financial requirement for Hungary’s guest investor visa. Separate three questions: which qualifying investment you have made or undertake to make, where the investment funds came from and whether they are available, and how you will cover living and healthcare costs during the visa stage. The immigration authority assesses the circumstances; it does not publish one fixed living-cost figure for every applicant.
Establish whether the investment is already complete
If the investment is already held, the visa guidance calls for the relevant evidence. For a fund route, that can include a certificate from the eligible fund manager or distributor confirming the fund shares issued in the applicant’s name. For a donation route, the qualifying higher-education institution must certify that it received the donation for an approved purpose. A payment instruction or ordinary transfer receipt does not necessarily establish that the qualifying investment has been completed.
If the applicant does not yet hold the investment, the visa file must include a declaration identifying the investment they plan to complete during the visa’s validity. It must also include a certificate from a Hungarian or foreign credit institution showing that the amount needed for that investment is permanently available to the applicant. This is evidence of capacity to complete the investment; do not describe an unpurchased fund share or an unpaid donation as a completed investment.
Explain the lawful source of the investment money
The authority requires credible evidence of the legal origin of the funds available to the applicant. Its guidance identifies public documents or private documents with full probative force that evidence the origin of property or property rights, and documents showing taxable regular income from employment or business activity. The file should connect the source, how the asset was accumulated and the amount now available. A statement showing only the current balance may leave that history unclear.
If the funds came from salary, business income, sale of an asset or inheritance, organise the genuine source documents and a clear timeline. Names, currencies, dates and amounts should reconcile across the records. If money moved through several accounts or entities, retain records that explain each transfer. This is a practical way to organise the evidence, not a claim that the authority prescribes one identical checklist for every applicant.
Living costs and healthcare are a separate check
A guest investor visa application also involves evidence concerning living, accommodation, travel and healthcare costs during the stay. The authority’s FAQ says it assesses whether the arrangements cover the relevant costs based on the individual case and its circumstances; it does not give one fixed subsistence amount for everyone. Follow the current guidance for healthcare evidence and check the territory, coverage and validity dates of any insurance or other accepted proof.
The FAQ distinguishes this visa-stage evidence from the later guest investor residence application: proof of subsistence and healthcare is checked for the visa, but is not required in the same way when applying for the residence permit. Investment funds being available does not by itself prove living and healthcare cover, and visa-stage requirements should not be copied wholesale into the later residence application.
Keep the Hungarian accommodation record consistent
The visa application also requires evidence of the applicant’s actual accommodation address in Hungary, a valid travel document and one facial photograph. The accommodation record should reflect the real arrangement and match the application and travel plan. An unconfirmed address, an expired passport or inconsistent details may lead to further questions.
Use a three-part evidence map before paying
A practical file map has three sections: the investment route and its required proof; the availability and lawful source of the investment funds; and living, accommodation, travel and healthcare cover. For each item, record who issues it, its date and currency, what fact it supports and whether it is still missing. Check investment product charges, banking costs, government fees and professional fees separately; none should be presented as the whole cost without evidence.
卓越移民 Premiervisa Group can help organise the route and evidence map, while the source of funds must be supported by the applicant’s genuine records. A guest investor visa may be valid for up to six months, and approval still leaves later residence and investment-proof steps. Processing times and outcomes are not guaranteed.
