Hungary Guest Investor Family Residence: Funds, Accommodation and Healthcare Evidence

A spouse or other eligible relative of a Hungary guest investor may apply for residence for family reunification. A common mistake is to treat the investor’s qualifying investment amount as proof of every family member’s living costs. They serve different purposes. The investment documents support the principal applicant’s investor route; each family applicant must also address the family-reunification conditions for subsistence, accommodation, healthcare and exit from Hungary. The immigration authority’s family-reunification factsheet does not set one fixed monthly amount for every applicant.

Separate the four questions the evidence must answer

The file should show how the applicant will meet living and accommodation costs in Hungary, how healthcare will be covered, and how the person can leave Hungary for return or onward travel. These are residence conditions for the family applicant. The investor’s fund-share certificate or donation evidence may support the principal applicant’s route, but it does not by itself replace the family member’s own financial, accommodation or healthcare evidence.

What can show means of subsistence?

The authority lists examples including a bank, savings, shares or bonds document in the applicant’s name; regular-income evidence from an employer or tax authority; a notarised undertaking by a family member to provide maintenance and care together with evidence of that person’s capacity; and other credible evidence. These are examples of evidence types, not a rule that every application must use only one document.

For a practical file, map the account holder, available amount, currency, document date, income source and expected stay in one evidence table. If a relative will provide support, connect the relationship, the undertaking and the supporter’s capacity. A balance screenshot with no clear account holder, date or source may leave gaps. Do not combine several family members’ funds without explaining who can use them. This is a document-organising method, not an extra official form or a guarantee of approval.

Accommodation evidence must show a legal right to use the address

Each applicant must provide evidence that they own habitable residential property or have a legal right to use it. Examples in the factsheet include a residential lease, a document confirming accommodation provided free of charge, proof of ownership, or a reservation with proof of payment. The document should match the real arrangement. If the investor rents or owns the home, confirm how each family member is entitled to stay there and keep the address consistent across the application.

Healthcare evidence must cover the required services

The applicant must show access to comprehensive health insurance covering all healthcare services, or the ability to pay for those services. The authority identifies coverage through social security, access under an international convention or agreement, or the ability to pay based on evidence of subsistence available in Hungary. Check the scope, validity dates and named insured person. Do not assume that any travel policy automatically meets the requirement.

Exit evidence concerns a passport and return or onward travel

The factsheet describes the exit condition as the ability to return or travel onward. A valid passport may be used as evidence; a valid ticket or tickets for the relevant journey, or funds to cover travel costs, may also prove the condition. The passport, itinerary and financial documents should make sense together. If travel is not finalised, check the authority’s current instructions on acceptable evidence.

Check every family member separately before filing

Family members normally have their own application records. Prepare a checklist for each person covering subsistence, the right to use accommodation, healthcare, passport and return or onward travel, then reconcile names, addresses, dates and relationship documents. For a minor, the factsheet also requires consent from a parent or legal representative for residence in Hungary, with the required Hungarian or English translation. Confirm the filing route, translations and document format with the competent authority for the place of application.

卓越移民 Premiervisa Group can help organise the principal applicant’s investment records separately from each relative’s residence evidence. The Hungarian authority assesses eligibility in each case; confirm current documents, fees and processing information from official sources when applying. No outcome is guaranteed. Checked against the Hungarian immigration authority’s family-reunification and guest-investor residence guidance on 22 October 2026.
