Subclass 189 Hong Kong stream: Booking health examinations with a HAP ID
When Home Affairs asks for health examinations, open the notice in ImmiAccount and check the applicant's name, examination list, HAP ID and deadline. In Australia, arrange the appointment through Bupa Medical Visa Services. Outside Australia, use a panel physician or clinic approved by Home Affairs.
Check the requirements for each person
Use the health assessment section of the relevant application. If more than one family member has been asked to attend, match each booking to that person's notice and HAP ID. You may be able to attend together, depending on availability. Keep the examination lists separate because the requirements can differ. Home Affairs may also assess family members who are not accompanying you, so follow the instructions for each person.
If you have yet to receive instructions and want an examination before lodgement, check the department's guidance on whether you can use My Health Declarations to obtain a HAP ID before booking.
Confirm what to take and what to do if an appointment is late
Ask the clinic what identification, referral details or previous medical records it needs. If you have renewed a passport or changed a name, check the identity details against the referral before attending. An ordinary health check does not replace the migration examination process.
If you cannot attend within the period specified in the request letter, Home Affairs directs you to attach details through ImmiAccount. Keep evidence of your booking, the earliest available appointment and any rescheduling. Check the application for a response or further instructions.
After the appointment, check for further requests
Attending the appointment, the clinic transmitting the results and Home Affairs completing the assessment are separate stages. Retain your booking or attendance record and check ImmiAccount for any further request.
